Don’t be afraid!

I just finished reading volume 5 of Idol Dreams. Really awesome manga, highly recommend it!

Anyway…there was a bit about writing lyrics that I found…well just hit me cause I could relate.

It basically was about being afraid of angering other people with what you try to express, and how you shouldn’t worry about it, pretty much. When you don’t it sounds…well not as well as it could be.

I related because I often do that. Not just with writing, but a lot of stuff. I get scared to disagree with people, or hold back either not wanting to get into stuff or am just afraid for whatever reason.

I know I should open up more. I want to try. No idea how it will go, but, I’d like to try.

Anyway, just wanted to share this.

That’s actually interesting and honestly, opening more is frightening especially when you can get hurt. No one wants to be vulnerable entirely but sometimes, we can’t always be to ourselves because it can hurt in the end. Complicated stuff.

Yeah, keeping stuff bottled up isn’t too healthy, though honestly sometimes I rather keep it hidden away.

I think that is part of the reason that I blog because I can delete any comments that are hateful and such and state my feelings and opinions in a way that makes me feel like I am in a safe space. I also feel like in the offline world I am not always in the position to say how I feel because I have to censor myself to other people because they will be offended and they are scared by it somehow.

If you don’t feel like you can do it offline, just try doing it online, and finding like-minded people to converse with. Also placing how you feel into any type of creative writing is also a good away because if someone said something you can always say it fit the writing or the plot or storyline, emotion, etc. I know I use to write lyrics all the time for that reason.

Those are some good suggestions. Thanks!

Aww I can relate to this. I have a tendency to self-censor, whether it’s online or in real life, because I don’t like confrontation and I don’t like being judged for thinking or feeling a certain way. I’m getting better at it now though, but I still keep quite a lot of things to myself. This opening up thing takes some time to get used to!

It’s really good that you’re brave to try somethings that you are afraid of! No matter the outcome, at least you tries right? instead of thinking what-ifs?
