Salt Lamps
There was some interest in my mentioning of salt lamps, so I decided to do a post.
What are they?
Salt lamps are pretty much what they sound like lamps made of salt. In particular Pink Himalayan salt. Though they can come in various shades of pink, and even white. They are sometimes random chucks that look like crystals and some of made in various shapes.
Do they do anything?
They basically are just lamps but they help with various things:
- Breathing and sometimes lessens allergies
- Sleep
- Stress relief
- Creates negative ions that combats positive ones made by electronics
I know sounds crazy right? Not so much.
I used to have just one lamp. I had it on all the time (which is recommended) and eventually the bulb died. I waited a while to replace it, and I noticed a difference in my allergies and stuff. So yes, I do feel there is some benefit. And if nothing else they’re pretty to look at!

I always kind of wanted one. My father and step mother had one… not sure if they still got it or not though. I do use an air purifier though because I have such bad allergies and asthma. Those lamps are very pretty too though… someday I shall get one. 🙂

Salt lamps are so cool! My boyfriend has one and I always put it next to me when I’m sleeping. Its so relaxing. Your salt lamp collection is lovely! I bet your bedroom is a great place for relaxing. 😀
